Getting Around Washington D.C.

The DC Metro (Metrorail) is Washington, D.C.'s regional subway system, operated by WMATA, featuring six color-coded lines (Red, Orange, Silver, Blue, Yellow, Green) that serve D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, offering a convenient way to navigate the city and avoid traffic, using your Tap credit card for payment. It's known for its distinctive architecture, extensive coverage, and connects major landmarks like the National Mall, airports, and Union Station, with fares varying by distance and time.  The nearest underground station is at Dupont Circle, an 8 minute walk from the hotel.  See our Step by Step Directions for getting to most of the places listed below using the Metro. Reunion host Jessica has grouped places to visit by where to exit Metro stations.

Ride share services, such as Uber and Lyft, are a good way to get around Washington if you don't have a car. Even with a car, rise share means you don't have to worry about finding parking at the venues and following GPS maps in a busy city.
