French Research Resources
We know from research (Jersey 1204) that Ricardus Poindestre lived in the Bayeux District of Normandy in the late 1100's. Researchers on other web sites, such as GeneaNet have Poindexter ancestors in Montaigu-la-Brisette in the Cotinin Pensula of Normandy in the 1500's, having moved there from Jersey. The home church for Jersey parishs prior to the anglisation of Jersey churhes was the cathedral in Coutances, Normandy, where there may be archives to search.
Sort of learning mideival Latin and travelling to visit French archives, here are some online resources and you only need to know English for some and French for the others:
