Reunion Introduction

John Wade
Greetings from the President

John E. Wade

Greetings one and all.   I am so excited that we are meeting in Natural Bridge, in Virginia's western mountains.   The Reunion Committee (Mark Poole and I) have negotiated great hotel rates and planned an excellent itinerary of events.    Please explore and learn more about what we have planned below and by exploring the links on this site.

If you have any questions, please contact me by email at reunion@poindexterfamily.org.

Highlights of this gathering of the clan

Many PDA members descend from the Poindexter families and related families that settled in this area, such as Tolley, Williamson, Ross, Alexander, Bowyer, Anderson, and Reid.   Thursday we car pool to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia to visit Barnwood Builder Boneyard and the grave of Revolutionary War soldier Capt. Michael Bowyer on the grounds of The Greenbriar resort.

Friday we have a coach tour of Lexington to explore and learn more about Washington and Lee University and the Poindexter family that settled here, including the gravesites of the George Benskin Poindexter II family.

Saturday we have the annual business meeting and presentations, a visit to the Natural Bridge Caverns, followed by the banquet that evening.

At all family reunions, we set aside time to be with our cousins, enjoy each other’s company, catch up on everyone’s news, and meet some of the newest members of the family.   Everyone who attends shares the same interest in a common heritage - all tracing back to the Isle of Jersey and Normandy.   There are some extraordinary events planned for everyone at the Poindexter Family Reunion this year, as well as opportunities to create additional holiday time on your own while in the area.

Read on to discover even more reasons why you should come to the 2024 Poindexter Family Reunion.   It promises to be an amazing experience for all.
